Diabetes and abnormal sugar metabolism are also major culprits. Then there is the excess Estrogen that circulates in men when they have too much intra-abdominal fat (can you say "beer-belly"?) You may not know that men have not only the male hormone, Testosterone, that promotes "maleness" but also Estrogen. If things are "off" especially in obesity, the testosterone is turned into estrogen. This is not a good thing, unless you like big breasts in which case you can grow your own, guys. Adding Testosterone does not help. It just gets turned into estrogen. Don't feel left out, women, you have some Testosterone too. If you've ever seen Martina Navratilova up close, you can see that the amount can be quite impressive.
So if all you do is to run down to your local MD and get an Rx for Viagra or the other ones that show two people at the edge of a cliff in bathtubs, or the old athlete throwing a football through a tire hanging from a tree, then you are missing the big picture. If you are slim and healthy and work out all the time, have normal cholesterol, and still have ED, perhaps you should take a closer look at your wife or girlfriend. Most of the time though, this is not the case and it is you, and your lifestyle choices that have let "Little Johnny" down. And a simple pill is never the answer. ED may be one of nature's warning signs that are telling you that you need to "straighten out" your life, start eating better and exercising regularly. I hope you get "the point."
