ACK (sort of) OF THE DAY

Siasconset, known to locals as 'Sconset, is a small town on the eastern end of Nantucket Island. There is a small rotary in town center with a general store, a sandwich shop, a real estate office, but little else. There are a couple of restaurants of renown. Sconset is only a 15 minute drive from downtown Nantucket. The people who live there suffer from a peculiar form of snobbery. While the rest of us are satisfied with ACK license plates or stickers on our cars, they have to go one step further and do what this Volvo owner has done. Since the vanity plates of most states are limited to seven letters, it is ASSUMED that somewhere in Ohio, there is a license plate with the entire SCONSET spelled out. And there are 49 other states. Note the SCNST oval sticker. Additionally there is a slogan "20 is enough" which means that everybody going through Sconset has to drive no faster than 20 miles per hour. Even at that speed, it would only take you 5 minutes. As an aside, bring some coins for the phone booth because the cell phone reception is awful.
