Who wouldn't want to give a brother a chance. He seemed like such a smart guy, and well educated, and those speeches, they were amazing. No wonder he garnered so many votes. Clearly far more white people voted for the half-black guy than black folks voted for the old white war hero. Racism for most of us was not and still is not an issue. If this were a generally racist country as some demagogs claim, and only 13% of us are black, how could he have won so solidly? Reelecting the guy on whose watch the unemployment rate grew to over 9 % and who upped the debt by a few trillion dollars in only 2 years does seem about as wise as getting an STD from the same person at the same bar two weeks in a row, intellectually speaking. Or to put it in terms our president used... Special Olympic reasoning quality.
