ADIOS AMY WINEHOUSE
27 year old drug addled singer who was celebrated for her lifestyle of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, checked out today. The phonies in Hollywood and the music business have written their mini-eulogies but were not there for her during her lifetime to perhaps try to give her a longer life and career entertaining her fans. Talent is no safeguard against tragedy. I personally did not like her music, her schtick, or her look but that is just personal taste. She appealed to other stoners of whom there are many. Life and death are apparently not concerns in their culture and therefore no lessons are expected here. Her act and her stage persona screamed DRUGS. Another self-fulfilling prophesy come to fruition.

Interesting to also see the trend of 27 year old musicians who permanently checked out with an overdose: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain. Amy didn't have a body of work like any of these guys but they do share their expiration date. But your point is very true. Every article mentions the "reactions" from people in the industry and her famous "friends" but where were they trying to help her get clean?!
