FIRE at ROCKY POINT

RECENTLY on our trip to Sarasota and our lovely homestead, our son and his wife, NotableNibbler (check her blog) came to visit for the 4th of July weekend. there were of course SALES at Saks that had to be experienced so the Kitty and the Gracie headed off down our road to score some loot. Unfortunately they returned home in just a few minutes because our street was blocked by 8 fire trucks who were putting out a fire at a house 5 doors away from ours. We live at the end of a dead-end street and could not get out of our house or further than a few hundred feet down the road. Eventually, several hours later, with some encouragement, they cleared a path for the Cat-mobile to go to the mall. The house is totally destroyed and the valiant firemen did a great job putting out the fire and saving us from a propane tank explosion. Unfortunately the Kitty missed the sale at Saks. Reminds me of a medical joke. A patient tells his doctor "I realize you saved my life but I still think I was overcharged."
