TURN HERE, MABEL

Darling, I meant when we get to the intersection. Sarasota is overpopulated with senior drivers. It is a catch 22. The public transportation system is virtually non-existent and not everybody lives in a "home" where they take you to the mall in a bus. Most of our senior citizens are quite self sufficient, despite their advanced years. Statistically, however, there is the greater than average chance of an accident in which the paramedics scratch their heads and wonder "Why would someone put their car in drive when it is nose into a parking space facing the restaurant, and then step on the gas?" Or in this case, make a hard right turn in the middle of the block?

Once you get over the fear of sitting by a window next to a parking lot at your favorite restaurant, and the flashing lights seen everywhere... driving in the left hand lane for miles with the indicator on, or the 4-way flashers activated with the slightest hint of rain, you really begin to relax while driving. You have to, you can only go as fast as the Q-tip peering through the steering wheel in the car in front of you. So if you are type A and need to learn to "Chill" driving here will cure you. Alternatively, you can go to Miami where the guy behind you blows his horn BEFORE the light turns green.
