The DINNER according to Saint Paul

This was the last of the First Tuesday free dinners at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Fair Street in downtown Nantucket, until winter. All through the Off-season, they have this event monthly. When you hear free dinner you usually think catfish, spaghetti, pancakes, or at the most burgers and hotdogs. Nooooo. Not in Nantucket, and not at St. Paul's. The menu was Filet Mignon, salad, and a bunch of other high-end fare. There were a couple of hundred citizens there including lots of small children. I found out about it from some locals who were nice enough to share this little insider secret with me. We ate outside in a garden next to the church. thank you very much to the church and the many volunteers who put on this event. In addition to the great food, we met several nice people whose kids played with our grand babies. The expense was covered by anonymous donors.
